Clearer Skies Over China: Reconciling Air Quality, Climate, and Economic Goals (The MIT Press)

The MIT Press, 2013. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Quarto hardcover, first edition. Inscribed on free front endpaper by contributor Dale W. Jorgenson to his fellow Harvard economics professor Ariel Pakes: "December 16. 2013, Dear Ariel, It was great to see you at BC! You have our advice to the US on an international agreement to replace the Kyoto Protocol on climate change. This is our advice to China. Season s Greetings! Dale." Jorgenson co-authored one chapter, "The Economics of Environmental Policies in China," and a separate appendix in the book. He is the Samuel W. Morris University Professor at Harvard, and has been both the chair of the Harvard Department of Economics and the president of the American Economic Association. In recent years he's turned his attention to environmental economics, for example as the co-author of Double Dividend: Environmental Taxes and Fiscal Reform in the United States, and he is a faculty associate in the Harvard University Center for the Environment. Ariel Pakes is the Thomas Professor of Economics at Harvard and teaches courses in Industrial Organization and Econometrics. The book would be fine except for some weakness in the hinge follow the front end free paper (which may, it seems, be a consistent problem for this particular book). But the hinge is holding. The tail of the spine is also lightly bumped. A fine jacket, and a powerhouse economics association copy. We invite you to explore our dedicated, growing collection of signed and inscribed climate change books. Please inquire for photos. Near Fine / Fine. Item #ABE-1594830739926
