The second book in Teale's classic American Seasons quartet (see our signed boxed set), of which the final installment, Wandering through Winter, won the Pulitzer Prize. Here Teale travels 20,000 miles through the northern part of the country from Cape Cod to Washington State and then down to Monterey in Northern California "across the advancing front of the season." All and all the journey takes him through 26 states. Red cloth with gilt lettering, and in excellent shape. Near fine with only a touch of browning along the gutter of the endpapers that is probably due to binder's glue. In a very good plus jacket that with browning to its interior and light sunning to spine, but likewise unusually nice shape for this book. The front panel present wonderfully with vivid colors.
