Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1971. First edition. Hardcover. Nicely inscribed on the title page in a blue pen: "For John Hooper, With my very best wishes. Her classic book which tells the story of her immersive relationship with the Gombe chimpanzees in Tanzania. Illustrated map endpapers with a family tree of the chimps among the group that took her in.
