The letter reminds him of an event they did together and a previous interview, and introduces this new book about the history of Bozeman Trail which ran from Nebraska to Montana. "Here the dreams and the dreamers collided, and the emigrant trail became a military road that initiated the Indian wars on the Northern Plains," eventually leading to George Armstrong Custer at Little Bighorn and then Wounded Knee. Serle Chapman, who is Cheyenne and the author of six other books, edited and designed the volume and contributes photography and a long essay. But the book includes contributions and reflections from many others. Quarto, green cloth boards with silver lettering, rich with art and photographs, including on the endpapers.
