Uncommon signed, and each signature in their own hand. A joint journal of their first year back in northwest Connecticut after leaving New York City, given in alternating entries, with attention to the seasons and natural history. The authors would go on to win the John Burroughs Medal for natural history writing for their book On the Road with John James Audubon. Orange paper boards, blue cloth spine. Drawings by Marcia Erickson. Very good with sunning to spine; one very short tear to cloth at middle of rear hinge. In a very good jacket with light sunning to spine, a little edge and corner wear, featuring the illustration of screech owl in a pine. Very good / Very good. Item #1569
