With Bedau's ex libris bookplate on the half-title page. Bedau was a professor of philosophy at Tufts; he was a leading anti-death penalty scholar as well as an expert in civil disobedience, publishing two books on civil disobedience--a nice connection with Thoreau in that way. Laid in is a 2012 program and related pages for "One World at a Time: Remembering Henry David Thoreau on the 150th Anniversary of His Funeral Held at the First Parish in Concord on May 9, 1862." The funeral and its eulogies by Emerson and Louisa May Alcott among others were apparently reenacted during this event. A very good or better softcover with some light sunning to spine and one bump to rear spine edge. A Thoreau forever stamp is affixed to the top of title page. A nice association with compelling ephemera. Very good. Item #1322
